How My Journey Began
Several years before deciding to start our family, I began to research homebirth and my husband (who is my number one supporter in all things great and small) and I interviewed a local midwife to learn more about physiological birth and what home birth is like. In 2021 I became pregnant, and we interviewed and selected a midwife whom we worked with throughout our pregnancy. We attended a Birth Education class presented by a local doula at The Nest and in 2022 early one beautiful summer morning we welcomed our son in our home.
After experiencing birth myself and being educated in all of my options for home or hospital delivery, I realized that I wanted to provide the childbirth education I had received and help anyone interested in learning about all their birth options so that no matter where their baby was born they had the education to make the decisions that were best for them. I also wanted to provide comfort and support in hospitals, birthing centers and in homes, and so my doula journey began.
